Since 2001, Faculty of Marine Technology – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya has held the annual SENTA conference, formerly known as Seminar Nasional Teknologi dan Aplikasi Kelautan (National Conference on Marine Technology and Application), which provided a regular forum for researchers and engineers of Marine Technology in Indonesia. Then in 2016, SENTA conference has turned into an international conference in order to expand its research network.
The conference aims to explore resilient and sustainable shipbuilding design and production, autonomous technology for enhancing sustainable marine infrastructure, the ocean environment and renewable energy, ocean engineering, shipping, port, maritime logistics, maritime development and sustainability, and ship transportation technology using alternative fuels. The objective is to foster innovation, low-carbon solutions, and high-quality economic aspects in these fields while promoting environmental conservation and sustainable practices, even amid the challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic.
Regarding important worldwide issues nowadays, the international conference theme of SENTA 2021 is “Smart and Sustainable Research and Innovation in Marine Technology“. This conference initiate a more integrated engagements with researchers and expand cross-cultural learning opportunity for the participants to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns, practical challenges encountered, and the solutions regarding smart and sustainable research and innovation in marine technology.
